Packmag Engine
From fall 1931 to fall 1932, a magazine called "Mechanical Package Magazine" had its short 4 issue existence.
It was completely based on peoples enthusiasm, for "how to" articles in Popular Mechanics and similar, and almost exclusively had these "how to" DIY articles in it.
It came in a flat cardboard box (hence the "package" part), which also held a small construction kit.
This one is the kit from the Summer 1932 issue, which consisted of the parts for a little steam engine.
Naturally accompanied by full instructions inside the magazine.
